Planning on full-timing in four years, when I retire at 66.  Anyone have any experience in per diem nursing?  Just looking for a couple of days a week to supplement government stipend.  Twenty years as OR nurse, last 10 as RNFA.  Really don't want to do the travel nursing thing, thought I would talk to individual hospitals and surgery centers.  Thanks for the help.

You said you weren't interested in the traveling nurse thing so this may not help.  But where I am now I have a neighbor who is an ER nurse.  They workamp and her husband does the necessary work at the cg to pay for the sight.

She makes fantastic money and seems to be able to call a lot of the shots as to when she works,  however she is stuck with the 12 hour days.
Why do they do that to nurses?  How can you be sharp for 12 hours?  That's another conversation entirely.
