While some, if not, most campgrounds have cable TV hookups, It is still possible to watch TV at Walmart. All you need is an HD antenna and http://www.antennaweb.org

The website shows you the local TV stations you can watch, what direction they are in relation to your location and how far away they are.

I have used http://www.tvfool.com/ for the same purpose.  It also shows obstacles, which is great help in the Southwestern USA.

I use antenna helper (Free) on my smart phone.

And what you need is not an HD antenna, it is a TELEVISION antenna.. You knowm, like the one the factory installed on your RV.

That said
Winegard Roadstar Omni and antennas like it: JUNK
Batwing: Good
Batwing with wingman: Better
Batwing with wingman and Sensar Pro (indoor module) BEST.

Note the lack of mention of the JACK antenna in this list.

All you need is to upgrade to this type of antenna: http://www.campingworld.com/shopping/item/winegard-sensar-iv-dtv-hdtv-antenna/50011

You don't need to buy this. You don't need to upgrade. There is no such thing as a digital antenna for a TV any TV antenna will recieve HD signals.

Isn't over the air TV all UHF now?

I use this.

Mounted on this.

Remove saw and pruner, save to prune low hanging branches at campsite. Attatch antenna to pole attach pole to roof ladder with 3 hose clamps and extend as high as you can you can get more height by mounting pole higher on ladder. I've gone high to the point of only 3 feet of pole clamped to ladder. We are about 75 miles south of the center of San Antonio and get 32 over the air channels. The pole saw can also hold a cellular antenna on top as well as also being a flag pole. For travel just loosen the clamps lower pole down ladder retighten clamps then collapse the pole so the antenna is lower than the highest thing on roof. I can actually get it lower than the roof.
Is it convenient like a roof top one, absolutely not. does it get more channels absolutely. Takes about 10 minutes to raise, aim it in the general direction of the nearest city and watch some local TV.

No... There are hundreds of stations still on VHF high and low channels, and I understand quite a few applications to move there from UHF channels are pending.

Yes but they get grumpy when you bring chairs over and especially if you won't share your popcorn.

I agree.

You can connect a piece of wire to your input and do just as well.

Have this type (6 channels) and it is worse  than my 26.99 Square Digital antenna (23 channels)  :D  I hang in the window. I live about 25 miles east of Nashville Tn.

I built this cookie tin lid antenna for next to nothing and it works very well. Be sure to tape the sharp edges on the metal.
