I am having one generator problem after another with my Onan Microlite KY series 4KW. I am now getting no voltage difference between the neutral wire from the genset at the automatic power switch and the "hot" line (black) wire at the same location. Checking with my multi-meter, I am getting full voltage between the line (black) and ground, full voltage between neutral (white) and ground, but nothing between line and neutral. This happened just after (probably) solving a couple of other problems that kept the motor from running continuously, and having it run and produce good AC power for 35 minutes. My multi-meter shows an open circuit between line and neutral with the generator stopped. I am guessing that ground connection has been lost somewhere, but I have no idea where to look.
