Has anyone replaced carpet with vinyl planks without scratches from the slide?

I'm not familiar enough with the Suncruiser slide mechanism to offer a reliable opinion on that. Some (most?) flush floor slides have rollers or skids on  the bottom and are designed to glide over carpets. They will scratch any hard flooring if you don't put some sort of skid pad under the roller/skid area when bringing the slide in. Depending on the clearance and type, you can use real thin plastic kitchen cutting boards, or sometimes just a spare piece of vinyl.

Slides that are not the flush-floor type are usually not a problem. They ride on a lip and stay above the flooring.

When preparing to install the flooring, measure the clearance carefully and make sure the overall height of the finished project isn't going to interfere with the slide mechanism.
