We occasionally see questions/comments from folks planning/hoping to immigrate to the USA, some intending to take "long" trips around the country, and some hoping to live (permanently) & work here. We (I) usually refer folks to the immigration rules/guidelines and/or provide links to official sources; See the stickies and other topics on this board.
Less obvious to some folks are the visa allocations. I stumbled on these stats on the CPB web site. This report is specifically for family-sponsored and employment-based preference categories. Note the large numbers on the waiting lists, and the resulting long wait times.
