I've been learning/practicing a song from my teenage days - "Ferry Cross The Mersey" by Gerry Marsden, of Gerry & The Pacemakers. It has an interesting strum (mix of strums), and Gerry made it look so easy to play and sing in sync.
Here's a YouTube video of the song.
Here's a Youtube interview with Gerry on a ferry crossing the Mersey, a humorous story of how he composed the song, singing it from a phone booth as his mother recorded it at the other end of the phone line.
FWIW I remembered the lyrics and melody from my younger days, but had not attempted to play it on the uke (or any other instrument) until a couple of days ago.
