I prefer to have my DEF under the hood. IMO, on pick-ups, the DEF tank was not intended to be refilled as frequently as when the owner fuels the truck. It was meant to be refilled in intervals that resemble oil changes. Not knocking manufacturers that put their DEF fill opening next to the fuel refill though, just not for me.

For those of us that pull heavy trailers nearly every day, it's handy to have it accessible.
