I know this is not a new topic but wondering if anyone has used or made a Boat Loader? I've seen a few of them in action on youtube and a few old posts here but wondering if someone out there uses it frequently and if they is anything to look for or to look out for as far as buying or making one and or it's use? We will be pulling a SUV and want to put a 14 or 16' flat bottom boat on top of it. These boat loaders are pretty cool for putting the boat on top of the vehicle.

I have one and it does a good job.  I am thinking about selling it as we haven't used for the last 18 months.

Here is a link to an earlier thread where I talked about it.

How big a boat can you put on it?

So I bought part of one from a guy off of craigslist for $300. It's an older one but it was never installed. Power one with basically the mounts and the power head. It's missing the rollers and the side rails. app $600 worth of parts needed yet. I'm ordering them from Mac MacDonald at Eide. New these units run $2k. I also bought an aluminum ladder rack off CL for $100 that the loader mounts to ...it fits over my topper on my 2007 Lincoln truck. I'll update when I have it completed.
