Nothing special about it that I can see - just a better wifi radio and antenna than the typical computer gadget. I use a Crane Super-USB Wifi that is similar, though its uses that "power-robbing USB" [where did they get that notion from?]. Wifi Ranger is another popular brand.
Mount the antenna anywhere you can. Higher is better, in general, though that really depends on where the signal is coming from. If you have a ladder on the rear, that is a popular spot. I prefer a portable pole, which is nothing more than a couple pieces of PVC pipe I can assemble and stick up outside if I need better reception. Otherwise, my wifi receiver/antenna just hangs next to the window by my computer workstation.
Please be aware that a system that performs well over open water may fail miserably when there are obstacles in the way (trees, RVs, hill, buildings). No booster can do much if the signal doesn't reach it, or there are solid objects interfering with the return path.
