Arch,

I suspect that I will be long gone before they take down the buildings.  With asbestos and lead they will most likely take quite a while to remove it all while taking precautions for the workers.

I plan on being here until all the temporary units are functional and operating.

I will however post pictures of the temporary setup as it occurs.

Edit:

Actually here is the first delivery of the admin building that arrived about 1:OO pm.  It will be joined by a third section tomorrow and the setup crew will have it functional by the end of the weekend.

This building is not really a part of the medical buildings but it is for office functions.

Bill, where are the temporary structures built before being moved to the needed location?  Being the driver of the trailer could get real exciting because they look like they're really large.

Ardra,

They are build or supplied from several different locations.  They transport them with escort vehicles on designated routes with special permits that have conditions of travel.

Just like how I will need an escort vehicle if I grow any longer...LOL

Update:

The first modular building arrived and has been assembled in about three days.  This building has nothing to do with healthcare but rather is for office staff.

Update:

I have been here about a month.  My first goal here was to reopen the Emergency Department.  This is a poor county in South Carolina and the Hospital is the largest employer in the county.

This is also the only hospital for miles around.

After looking at several option to set up a way to get patients into our Mobile Emergency Units I have assembled a Waiting / Intake area and a connecting corridor using modular buildings to support and create an all weather system for both patients who walk into the ER and for an ambulance entrance.

Rather than have patients enter a tent and ramp system in the front parking lot, we did what is shown in the following pictures.

Ten days ago this was an empty parking lot.  See the pictures to show it now nearing completion.

And I'm going to be fortunate enough to get to see them first hand next week. Can't wait.  Nice pictures Bill.

Oh wow!  When do you estimate it will be usable?  Such a neat project.

ArdraF

It will be ready as soon as I can make it happen.  Raining dogs and cats today.  I would like to say next week, but still have some balls in the air including the final inspection by the State.

Update:

Closing in on completion.

A lot has happened in the last week.

All utilities connected, both decks and ramps finished, supporting modular waiting room and corridor basically done, fire sprinklers installed in modular, one of the last big items is new floors in the ER Units.

I wish I could have given this jop to Ernie.  The floors for both units cost about $33,000
