We will pick up our 2009 Everest on Friday.  We plan to rip the carpet out (I have asthma) and replace w/either laminate or vinyl planks.  It's in good shape BUT there's an awful lot of dark brown in the unit.  I won't be happy until we've brightened it up and gotten all the carpet out.
The sofa is camel and european style chairs are a reddish/brown.  Even the walls are a textured light camel color..  I sew, it won't be a problem to change valances or re-upholster chair seats.. I don't quite know where to start even though I have a few things in mind.

What I'm trying to change- tone down the orange-camel color throughout the unit by making accent color changes. [It should help greatly, to remove the orange-tan carpet and replace w/something more neutral.
I do not want to paint the walls. I thought maybe I could bring some grays into the unit with valances, accents?

Suggestions for someone having done the same tonal changes would be appreciated.

In the middle of doing the same thing, I still cannot believe the color schemes they still used in 98, look more like something from the 70's, complete paint job, new laminet flooring (light brown) and the jackknife and two chair are having covers made by a local lady who has been sewing for 60 years. Once I sat down and looked at the chairs it wasnt all that hard to get them apart, 4 screws and 4 bolts, the sofa is about the same, new foam and some nice exterior fabric will look amazing when she is done, I'm doing the valances myself.

I was in the same boat,..copd....doc and carpet guy says not to have carpet over 7 years as the fibers are constant air born..that and didn't like the green or the fuzzy dust collector window frames...also re did the head board... everything is ultra leather now....
