DW was five years cancer free on Friday. ;D It was a rough one, they had to remove a kidney and open up the vena cava to get all of it. The surgeon, one of the best in Canada, said it was one of the most difficult operations he had ever performed.
We had been married six months, I remember her walking away at the hospital and wondering if I would see her alive again. I was scared spitless. She still has difficult days with diabetes and severe arthritis but we are grateful for every morning we wake up on the green side of the grass. We are both excited about hitting the road this summer.
