Hauling 15000# with a Q-16 slider hitch. Experiencing a loud clunking sound when taking off and breaking. Pretty unnerving, even when I know it's coming. Has anyone experienced this, and is there a cure?

I have basically the same issue with my Reese Hitch. In my case, (may be same for you) it's the clearance between the jaws and the king pin. I make sure to keep a little grease on the kingpin to minimize wearing.
Thanks this is my first experience with the fifth wheel sliding hitch. The Curt Q 16 comes with the poly desk and I greased the jaws per manufacturers recommendation. I noticed I can grab the hitch and it wiggles back-and-forth a little bit on the sliding rods. Just wondering if this is a common issue with all sliding hitches
