Honda recommends pulling fuse 7 (I think that's the right number), when pulling the CRV more than 8 hours/day.  So we had the tow/drive switch installed.    We usually travel less than 8 hours per day.  Everything works great with the IRVBrake. (BTW we really like the convience of the IRVBrake and how it works.)

One day we were travling a bit longer ,so we flipped the switch to "Tow".  By changeing the switch ('pulling the fuse') we had no power to the IRVBrake, when plugged into the 'cigarette lighter".

We plan to be traveling longer distances this summer, so the question is...

How do we get power to the IRVBrake when the switch is on "Tow" cutting the power of Fuse 7 thus the cigarette lighter?

Direct wire a socket from the battery with its own fuse. Mount it under the dash out of site, but easy to reach. It will only draw power from the battery when something is plugged in.

Alternatively, just run a charging line to the CR-V and not worry about it.  We installed a Toad Charge and it works just fine.
