I have a trac-King 9762 and it no longer works with Dish network.  Will this work with Direct TV?  I know I would need a new box, but what else?

Don't know for sure, but probably, for awhile anyway. I don't know if it needs any mods to receive the Direct satellite (101) instead of Dish - some domes just need DIP switch changes, while others need hardware of software changes. And it won't be HD, if that's what you have now. Direct doesn't broadcast HD on any band that dome can handle. The King Dome people can probably tell you that, or maybe the folks at Solid Signal or other major satellite equipment outlet.

Direct is also making changes and plans to discontinue SD broadcasts on their 101 satellite within a couple years. They haven't made known just what they will be doing, but it will be HD. I would try to minimize money spent on new or modified equipment until the future becomes better known. Unfortunately, that may leave you with limited tv over the next year or two.

Thanks Gary:  I do not want to buy a dish right now but since mine will no longer lock on and work with Dish network I was just wondering.  Maybe a call to Trac-King is best.
