Hi Guys, heading out to the coast with my TC and wondering if I can access any of the dunes without a 4 X 4?
2005 Super Duty 6.0 Diesel with super wide tires but only 2 wheel drive could be a problem..
Can't tell on G Earth but lots of the sandy looking access roads look like just plain sand..  Anyone been there
or have recent info...  Appreciated.

Where on the OR coast?  Florence?  If it is, I wouldn't do it in a 2wd.  Been all over that area in an ATV.

Thanks guys...  and add to that the quandary of BLM and dispersed continues..
The Forest Service site says dispersed camping is allowed anywhere in the Siuslaw Forest area
unless designated otherwise and blada blada blada but when you actually go to the coast it is
full of greedy pay campsites and all the comments from all the research I have done agrees with that.
If there is dispersed camping it is bloody well hard to find on line...

I did find Coos Bay  bastendorff beach which is indeed free but lots of warnings about dangerous crazy people hanging out there..

I've seen a lot of people parking on the sand at Winchester Bay but I don't know if it's free.  They are parked just inland from the road going to the parking lots.
