We are new to RVing and I did a search but found no definitive answer. I have a 2015 Fusion we use as a daily driver, get around town car and we want to tow behind the MH. Everything else we have is too big, Dually F350 and or mustangs that will be towed on a car trailer.  Its a lease so I want to keep miles off the odometer and I do not want to install a tow bar as that modifies the front end. We plan to buy a used dolly to use until the lease is up when we will buy either a wrangler or a Ford Flex we can flat tow.

My question is, when you dolly tow and only the rear wheels touch the ground, the miles don't record on the odometer? right?

Front wheel drive cars being towed on a dolly do not record any miles on the odometer since the odometer is usually connected to the transmission and your driving wheels are off the ground. ;)

Virtually all newer cars with the electronic digital odometers will not record miles unless the ignition is ON, Acc does not activate the odometer.

You are safe both ways!
