The USB charging outlets in my Winnebago Era emit a blue light. I guess it is supposed to help with connecting a cable, but it does not. What it does is leak light from the poor fitting covers providing unwanted light in the sleeping area. I would like to remove the bulb or turn it off but I don't see how. Has anyone fixed this problem?

It is not likely a bulb that can be removed either, more often it will be a small LED.

As Alfa said it is an LED, the purpose is to indicate "Power present" You can open the device and destroy the LED or de-solder it from the board.. Or better yet put a square of electrical tape over it..  And re-assemble.. but that is the only way.

I see, it indicates power to the outlet. Electrical tape works good, it blocks light leak and can still see light indicating power. Thanks

You might look at these:

You need to do some work with an Xacto, but I use them all over the house.

That looks interesting but I just use a piece of black plastic electrical tape. It is easy to apply, easy to remove and I think it is probably less expensive than those patches.
