Looking for anyone who has installed a base plate on Element? Difficult / cost / nor cal installation suggestions ?  Any advice would be helpful.  Equipment is Blu Ox,  Motorhome 5342 Dolphin  thanks

I've installed Blue Ox base plates on two Honda CR-Vs and a Smart Car.  Basic skills are required and sometimes a little drilling.  Read the instructions on base plate installation on your vehicle.  See http://assets.rigidhitch.com/Blue_Ox/BX2232.pdf or https://www.blueoxtowbars.com/products/,BX2232?product_type_id=337,82&group_id=

Good Luck.

I've done two CRVs.  The most difficult part is 'peeling' the front of the car off.  You will think you're breaking it, and you might!  I broke one of the plastic retainers that holds the bumper on and had to get in there with a zip tie to hold it on.

I have a 2006 Element EX-P and Honda says it's not towable.  Makes no sense because it's the same engine, transmission and AWD system as the CRV.  I know people tow them successfully.

Where in Nor-Cal?  My home base is near Morgan Hill.

Been towing the Element for nearly two seasons and just fine. My 05 manual has a chapter just for towing. All is good.

Look on etrailer.com. They most likely sell the base plate and have outstanding videos for install.
