Preparing my first toad. I will be towing a 2014 Chevy 1500 crew cab 4x4 . I have bought the Blue Ox base plates and the Air Force One aux. braking system. What kind of cost am I looking at to have these installed?

It will be fairly steep. The base plates will be 2-4 hours (see the installation instructions with the base plates for an estimate), and the AF1 takes  3-4 hours as well (again, see the instructions). Shop labor rates vary, but anywhere from $80-$125 per hour is typical, with RV dealers at the high end of that range.

You also need  brake/turn/tail light hook-up for the towed vehicle, and that will likely add a couple hundred more.

I think you will be somewhat north of $500, and maybe as much as $1000 at some shops. A place that specializes in hitches is probably less expensive than RV dealers.
