We ended up going to Hershey PA on Saturday to the RV show there to look at travel trailers.  Starting to get an idea of what we want.  I had a thought on the way home.  We tend to boondock a fair amount.  I didn't consider the height of the the  undercarriage of the trailer and the black/grey tank emptying plumbing.  Some of the places we camp requires being on some not so friendly terrain.  One of the campers we were looking at (Lance) is on our short list but as we were leaving, I noticed how low the camper box sat.  So the one question I did not ask on Saturday is what is the normal box height/ axle height for travel trailers?  The Lance does come with a 2 5/8 lift kit.  Worried about ripping out some plumbing on a rock etc.

As far as I know, there isn't any "normal" ground clearance and I have seen more than a few models with very low hanging pipes, tanks and other gear. I think it's something you are going to have to look at on a case-by-case basis.
