After lots of research I finally replaced my hitch on my 04 2500HD GMC. I found a seller on ebay [bestlesstruck] who sells the class 5 Putnam XDR hitch for $109.95 plus $45.00 shipping. Local dealers sell this for about $300.00. It comes with a lifetime warranty,great powder coat finish & built to handle 16,000 pounds weight distributing. My dealer told me not to worry about my GM hitch but all the pictures on the internet spooked me. I think the price is cheap to have piece of mind. When I hooked up my trailer & put on my wd setup the bumper & frame ends did not move like with the old hich. I always worried about the movement before. It took about an hour to install & I could leave my LT265/16 spare in place. I cut the mount for the plug off the old hitch & mig welded it to the new hitch. Now if the weather holds out I am ready to go camping! ;D Alan
