My DH had an unexpected hospitalization this last week. Because of follow up appointments, we are stuck in the metro another week or so. Since the Ryder Cup is out here by where we are staying, the campground is filled up after Tuesday, when we were going to be heading out to Oregon.

This is where we were going to move to next weekend till the Ryder cup tournament is over and spots open up here at the casino. Guess not now.... http://www.kare11.com/news/local/flood-waters-cover-campers-in-zumbrota/324315704

LOL! Several years ago we arrived at a campground in Iowa, thankful to get off the road in nasty weather. Then we discovered that flood waters were near the tops of the picnic tables! Fortunately, a friendly local told us about another campground several miles further along the interstate and located on a hilltop.  Winds were stronger up there, but we were literally high and dry!

Hi cadee2c,

Sorry for your problems! Hoping and praying for your husband's full recovery. There has to be a spot to camp or boondock somewhere in the area. Hope you find a nice place to park for a while.

If you continue on to Oregon, be sure to keep and eye out for the weather there and make sure NOT to take any of the secondary roads to get to places. It can get nasty there fast and those secondary roads strand people all the time, some for months. Have a sister that lives out in Oregon so have been warned by them many times. Wishing you folks the best!

Caryl,

Check with the hospital. Many have RV parking areas. I know the hospitals in Flagstaff and Cottonwood Arizona have RV parking. I think the one in Cottonwood even has electric. Don't know about the one in Flag. The main hospital information desk should be able to help you.

Oh dear, lucky you weren't there already! Good luck with hubby's health and getting somewhere to pitch up. :)
