I did notice the Oasis was very easy to get to... I came off I-15 and all you do is get in the right lane.

If you are in the right lane as you come east off I-15 you must turn right... Right into the OASIS

Very nice

In other news.... Just found out the elementary/middle school my daughter attended is closing.. Yet another catholic school goes down.  Not good news.

Enjoy your stay.  I found it to be a very nice park.

And I think they have a shuttle that visits Harrah properties, this includes the Bally's casino.  If you see a young lady dealing blackjack who has fairly long dark blond or auburn hair... Be sure to leave some of your wages with her :)

Main Street Station, it's 2 blocks from Fremont Street where you can catch the light show and also just a bus for the strip.  It has high security and only costs aroung $17.  Leaves lots of $$ to lose in Vegas!  Address is 200 N.Main & phone # is 1-800-634-6255

Last nights paper discussed a new development by MGM Grand that will start next year.  It will be located on the 100 acres between the Circus Circus Casino and Sahara Avenue and be bounded by Industrial (now Dean Martin) and LV Blvd.  It said that the Circus Circus RV park will be closed when it gets going.  Also, it said that the cost of the land to assemble the 100 acres averaged $17,000,000 per acre.  That's close to $400 per square foot!

From what I hear the Oasis RV Park may last another 2-5 years because of project delays.

$17 mil an acre is insane. At those prices, which old casino is next to be imploded to make way for the next billion dollar place? Will there soon be no RV parks left?? Guess there's good money to be made in gambling....by the house.

Wendy,

You're right; it is insane!  We thought the $1.2 BILLION for Wynns was nuts.  Now there's a new multi-use development going up on on the north side of Fry's Electronics that is to cost $4.2 BILLION.  Another multiuse one is going in next to the Monte Carlo and it is now up to $7.4 BILLION.  Guess the days of the million dollar casino are over.  The ones next to Fry's and Monte Carlo will have high rises, shopping, etc.  I don't recall any mention of them having casinos attached - they're just really fancy developments!  They've also just announced that instead of imploding the Tropicana, it's going to be renovated.  Wonder how much that project will cost.

Do you realize that some of the casinos cost more than most countries of the world have for their entire annual budgets???  I can remember at our nephew's wedding 15 years ago in West Virginia, we were talking about California's budget and people didn't believe us when we said it was $1 billion/year.  I'm sure it's a lot more now.

$103,141,000,000 total general fund expenditures in the governor's 2007-08 budget.

Carl, that's more zeroes than I can comprehend.  ;D
