RV parks near Parker in mid-October
« on: September 28, 2016, 05:27:57 PM »
Made reservations many, many months ago for a long weekend at Buckskin Mountain State Park in a couple weeks, choosing the exact site deemed best as I usually do (campground photos, online reviews, satellite, etc etc. I'd probably send a drone to reconnoiter if I could  ;) ). They called today to say construction will be closing most of the park through November. Of course after that they're now booked until at least January.

So looking for alternatives. This is just a long weekend. We have the ability to dry camp but temps will still be high 80s and prefer not to run the genset too much so electricity would be nice. For this trip don't want to just go sit in the desert, Buckskin offered trees, the river, etc.

I imagine anywhere decent will be booked but hoping to not just cancel the weekend, anyone have suggestions? This is just a weekend getaway, but we are planning on visiting the Nellie E so not too far from there.

Thanks
Scott

La Paz County Park is a campground on the river, just north of the Nellie E road.  No reservations, but generally only full during the winter snowbird season.

River Island State Park is just around the next bend to the north of Buckskin Mtn.  Have you tried reserving a space there?

Otherwise, take a look at rparkreviews.com. They show 30 RV parks and campgrounds in and around Parker.
