While doing some research for another post, I happened on a little tidbit of info that may save F53 class A owners a bunch of money. As it turns out, the emergency brake is mounted aft of the transmission on the driveshaft, is a cable operated drum type brake, and (get this!) requires tranny fluid! Several people said theirs had run dry causing bearing failure, necessitating replacement to the tune of over $1000. Supposedly they cannot be rebuilt. There is indeed a filler plug located directly above the brake operating cable and actuator arm which can be removed with a #17 metric socket. Check as you would a differential - stick your finger in the hole. If it comes out dry, add DEXRON ATF fluid; NOT brake fluid. It only holds 4 oz. of fluid, and you'll need a baby ear syringe or something similar to squirt the stuff in.
Mine is a '96 with the 460 and E4OD. Don't know if yours will have it, but may be worth a quick check.
