Hi,

The sofa bed on our Damon Daybreak is next to useless for sleeping on.  The mattress is wrecked and the frame is sagged and bent.  As a couch its not great either.
Is it worth repairing this or would I better off buying a a new one?

I don't want to ask my local dealer as we all know what he will say.

I called Thor and they referred me Total Value Rv, it's 1200$ excluding labour
To replace the sofa bed.

I just measured the frame and it is 72 by 52.
I am wondering should I go with a sofa bed specific memory foam mattress or an inflatable.

We do have some cardboard bed stiffeners my wife got  from Amazon to try with the old mattress (it was still crap), I could try these or use some plywood.

Any thoughts?

Another question, my old mattress is 3.5 inches thick. Would I have to go with the same thickness one or could I get away with a 4.5inch.  I am worried about the sofa bed not folding or damaging it.  I will tape up any sharp pieces of metal on the frame.
