My 2017 Discovery came with a Rand McNally GPS built in. It says the maps are over one year old and an update is available. On Rand McNally's web site they want you to down load a "dock" software that requires connection to the GPS. How do you do this with a dash built in unit?

Also it tries to send us down two lane winding roads when faster 4 lane interstates are available. The preferences are set for truck and fastest but still can not trust it.

Have the same unit in mine, there should be a slot in the radio to remove the SD card. Take this out, download the dock software to your PC. The software will prompt you when to plug in the SD card to your PC. The Dock software will read the card and lead you through the update
