We are planning on spending the summer in Maine. We have 2 opportunities; one in the Bar Harbor area and one in the Camden area.

Any suggestions on what area would be best.
Thanks for your help and suggestions.

I never been to Bar Harbour (even if closer), but I have been to the Camden area and it's really nice in the summer.

Bar Harbour has the Acadia National Park, so depending on the activities you like to do, this is something to consider as well.

Both are top tourist destinations on the Maine coast so they will be busy. Camden is beautiful and so is Mt Desert Island.

I am sure Gary Brinck will chime in here as they work camped at Camden.

We workamped for two summers at Camden Hills RV Resort in Camden/Rockport and loved the area. Bar Harbor is nice too, but more heavily congested.  Camden is bad enough in August, but Bar Harbor can be tough to get around anytime July-Labor Day. I've heard the Mt Dessert Narrows Campground is decent place to workamp - some freinds did it lat year and were quite happy there.
