Jeff, our dates have changed. We will be arriving on the 19 th of Jan. Instead of the 16 th. Will be in Yuma for the FMCA jeep rally.

Robin and Bill Gallagher from Oregon would like to attend 1-16 (or earlier) thru 1-25.  Our 1st! How exciting!

Robin and Bill

We all look forward to meeting you at QZ.

Two questions.  Is anyone already at the forum site in Quartzsite and if not when is the earliest person planning on being there.

I was way too early last year and spent two days waiting for anyone to get there early.  I eventually moved closer to civilization.

If I am going to set up the Circus Big Top and the cages for the Elephants, Lions, and Tigers, then I want to be in the right spot and not move twice. :D

Jeff:  Ditto for us.  Hanging with the FMCA 4x4's for a few days.  See you in Q

Our plan is to be there the 12 but could be the 13 th will have to  see how much fun I'm having at the casino in Tucson. The weather  for Quartzsite is calling for temperature in the 70 sh next week.

Jeff, we plan on being there for a least a few days.  Likely head over from Indio depending on the weather.

Anyone planning on being at Q prior to the 17th?

If you get there first post a couple of photos and we'll help make sure you are on the site. Some of fire ring will probably still be there on the east side of the road.

Jeff,

If my internal navigation system is even close to being correct, I think the "road" through our parking area runs east-west. The fire ring remains will most likely be on the north side of that east-west road. I think.

Richard you are probably right. I was going by having the sun in my eyes when parked on the west/south side of the area in the AM.

Anyway the fire pit is on the right as you come in from the ranger station.

Put me down as a definite "maybe", Jeff.  I scheduled vacation time to attend the Blythe Bluegrass Festival followed by the QZ rally, but we had a major transmitter meltdown at our recently purchased Santa Barbara station just before the holidays and it's limping along on a low powered standby unit.  The replacement transmitter will arrive right around rally time so I may be tied up installing the new equipment instead of going to QZ that week.

I don't know about getting a 3 day pass at the gate, but I do remember seeing daily tickets on sale.

I am going to just attach this post here because it is about Quartzsite.

I just ordered lots of LED strips and 50 switches to convert or rather add LED's to overhead fluorescent lights.  My plan is to set up a work area in my Stacker workshop for anyone that wants to practice converting their lights to dual use.

I have soldering irons, wire, switches and LED strips for free to anyone that wants to convert their lights.  I think I have enough LED strips for about 20 fixtures (about 60 feet of strips).

If several people want to try this we might want to only do one or a few each to learn how to do this.  If anyone brings extra strips they can convert all of their fixtures.  I am willing to use all the supplies up till they are gone. I ordered 50 switches.

Here is a link to the original post that shows what I am talking about.

I am not trying to talk anyone into doing anything and I certainly am not selling a product, just offering a place to do it and some advice and instruction on how I did mine.

Hope you make it Lou.

Sorry but Sheryl and I will miss all of you great folks this year and the great adventures too - hikes, golf, happy hour and campfires.  We sold our fifth wheel this past year and are off to Ecuador and Costa Rica this winter.  But I don't think we are done RVing just yet so maybe next year.

That is quite a change.
