We, the forum Staff, prefer not to over-moderate discussions. However, I've recently noticed an elevated number of discussions that need intervention (or locking). Please take the time to read our forum Rules and note the restrictions on discussions. related to politics, religion and firearms.

Whether specifically called out in the Rules or not, three of these topics politics, religion and firearms) can result in discussions spiraling downhill in a hurry, which is why our early forum members agreed that they would be taboo topics, in the interests of maintaining harmony. Over the last few years, we've allowed some degree of such discussions, provided they remained civil. Unfortunately, they can still result in discussions going downhill, requiring Staff intervention.

I urge you to read the rules we all agreed to when registering an account here, and please avoid the personal attacks and contribution to the downward spiral. Meanwhile, please take your heated positions to email or to other forums that cater to such discussions.

Thanks.

Edit: Clarified topics which can result in discussions spiraling downhill and what is specifically called out in our forum Rules.
