Title: Spring Birding for the non Snow Birds
Post by: Len and Jo on March 30, 2017, 03:31:54 PM
For those in Michigan, Wisconsin, and Southern Ontario.

Michigan Audubon Whitefish Point Spring Fling April 29th-30th.  A great time to greet the spring season, maybe kick some of the last snow for the winter, meet other people who like to get outdoors.

Joanne and I will be there and we are also donating two items for the Saturday night dinner raffle.  A cherry writing box I made and bird themed purse Joanne made.

Hope to meet some of you there this year.

We will be camping at Tahquamenon Falls State Park.  Sites cleared of snow (if present) and electricity.  Water will still be off for the season and restroom are closed until summer.

Taquamenon Falls: The Upper Falls is flowing at 30,000 gallons of water per second. Only patches of snow remain in the woods - now is a great time to visit if you want to avoid the crowds

Wish we could be there to see it. Water falls are wondrous to view during the spring run-off!

Had a great trip.  Joanne added 5 more birds to her life list which is 2-3 more then she would normally get.  Here are some pics from the outing.
