Title: Mounting Kit for Stereo in Oversized Voyager Spot
Post by: Aaron407 on June 26, 2017, 02:33:04 PM
Hi everyone,

I'm a new member on the continued pursuit of improving my travel trailer.

One of the biggest gripes that I have with it is the poor stereo. It's one of the large Voyager/Jansen CD units (model AWM930) with only 50W total output.

I'm currently planning to change the speakers, but I'd also like to look into replacing the head unit. With its non-standard size, though, it's not a simple swap. Does anyone know of where to buy a mounting kit to allow a standard DIN, 1.5 DIN, or 2 DIN stereo into the opening? The manual shows the mounting size to be 9.25 (W) x 6.05 (H) x 5.25 (D), which is approximately 3 DIN tall but over 2" wider than a standard deck. To keep it looking clean, I'm hoping to find a prefabricated plate rather than make one myself.

Any thoughts?

Many companies make adapters or "Faces" that will fill the hole properly but I'd just cut wood myself.
