Title: GATOR tow dolly?
Post by: Msbudlite on February 08, 2018, 01:44:02 PM
I'm looking for reviews on this brand.  $2500.00 taxes in and delivered, with brakes.  NEW

Thanks all.

I don't have any experience with the brand, but considering that you can buy a stainless steel Kar Kaddy for a few hundred more, I wouldn't call $2500 a real bargain. Does that price include brakes, or is it the bare bone dolly?

You should be able to get an excellent Stehl or Mastertow dolly, configured with electric or surge brakes, wheel straps, etc. for around $2000.

Here's a Stehl with surge brakes for $1695:

We are in Quebec, Canada.  I believe the one you sent is in NC and would be an additional 30% (exchange rate)  Yes the GATOR has brakes.

So that $2500 was $C?  Big difference, of course.

Dollies are generally much less expensive in the southern US, where the selling season is longer. Getting one delivered in Quebec is a whole nother story...

Yes, they are hard to find up here.  And used is nearly impossible.  Thank you for your input though, itís certainly appreciated.

I have a American Tow Dolly. We went almost 4,500 on it last year. The owner brought it to my house approx 1,900 miles and showed me how to hook it up. The welds on it are beautiful, all made in his shop in Colorado.  Only thing I did was to leave the ramps off the dolly and carry them in a compartment. Makes the dolly much easier to move around. I know he has deveried uo to New England. Just might take a month or two for him to get a load coming your way !!

Used one of those a couple times - a well made product.

Suggest to look for one with a swivel plate. Makes turning a lot easier.

With a handle like mine I would have to highly recommend the GATOR tow dolly.
