Title: ESTA visa waiver rules changed
Post by: Tom on September 18, 2015, 09:14:38 AM
Previously, visitors from defined countries were allowed to apply via the ESTA Visa Waiver program, avoiding the need to apply for a B1/B2 visa. The ESTA rules limited the time in the USA to 90 days max, and only one visit was allowed, with no ability to extend the stay. B1/B2 visas OTOH were good for 10 years, with 6 months maximum stay, and multiple entries.

The ESTA/visa waiver program rules appear to have changed, allowing multiple entries with a "reasonable period of time" between visits. Details can be read on this U.S. Customs and Border Patrol ESTA page (https://help.cbp.gov/app/answers/detail/a_id/1072/kw/esta/session/L3RpbWUvMTQ0MjU4NDM0My9zaWQvNzlSNm9Od20%3D).

This is one more example of why it's important to get the latest information from the source.
