Title: Casino Camping
Post by: Bill N on May 15, 2016, 09:43:26 AM
I'd very much agree with not having a desire to go on a 'Walmart camping trip'... However have many times appreciated that there are so many Walmarts directly off the interstates with big parking lots, with lot's of security cameras and that they don't go out of their way to give people the boot when they need a place to stop when the eyes start closing or the weather makes travel difficult!!!

Also keep your eye out for casino RV campgrounds.  Most also have parking lots for oversized vehicles (18 wheelers & such) and make for an easy overnight stay.  Lots of casino campgrounds are free and others charge only a nominal fee for full hookups.  Just an idea.

Very good tip, thank you.  This is actually ironic... Just a few weeks ago DW and I went to our local casino for dinner, on the way out we commented on the large parking area with a few RV's in it... Good to know, while it's only a few minutes away from our home, I can't back the unit in after dark and it's awesome to have somewhere so close to home to stop until morning!

For those unfamiliar with casino camping, here is a link to a pretty good resource for casino camping (http://www.casinocamper.com/). You can also download a POI file of casino locations for a GPS from the POI Factory website (http://www.poi-factory.com/).
