Wiper arm goes way off on the driver's side
« on: March 10, 2012, 05:30:43 AM »
I have a 2008 Vista on which the driver's wiper blade goes way off on the left.  And sometimes has a hard time coming back up to wipe the windshield.  Anybody know how the fix this?  The passenger side works fine.

Welcome!

Are the wiper arms in the proper position at rest?

Might check under the hood for a bent rod or worn bushings (on end of arms) in the linkage. Also might be loose mountings causeing this.

When you say worn bushing, are you talking about the hole on the end of the arm that slips down on the shaft has teeth on it?

Some of them have a plastic or fiber bushing on the end that allows a post to spin in it.

If it has the duplex wiper arms, if the small one is bent, it can cause problems.
