Step won't stay open on 2005 Itasca Horizon 40ad

So suddenly my step on my 2005 Itasca Horizon 40ad won't stay open.  Whenever the screen door is shut, the step goes up. 

My first reaction is that it's likely to be something to do with the step on/off switch, however, I'd be instead in getting other people's thoughts on this.

That's the behavior if the step switch is on.  If it's off, the step should stay out once it's out.  Are you saying the step switch doesn't work that way?  Does the lamp light when the switch is on?

When the switch is off the step does not stay out.  What lamp light are referring to?

Our switch has a lamp with it that is lit when the switch is on.  Apparently you have a problem with either the switch wiring or the control board.  Is this a Kwikee step?
