Step won't stay open on 2005 Itasca Horizon 40ad

There is no light on our switch.  It is a Kwikee switch.

Not at home, but will check that when I get back.  Hopefully that's it, although I'll feel pretty dumb ;)

Ignition switch on would do it too.  If you need them, there are various technical documents on your steps available here.

The light isn't on the switch, it's the orange 'footlight' under the steps which should be on when the steps are active and off when they're not.

Ned:
We have the under step light but also have a light on the override switch as well to show when it's on.  Our under step light only lights when the steps are retracted.
