He does have some good points, it illustrates how every Democrat President, at least in my life time, has thoroughly hosed the US Military with the disrespect and social experiments.

The average person just does not understand what we go through and how these social experiments affect our way of life. I'm glad I am Retired and do not have to put up with the extra drama and training on these social issues. We barely have enough time without working 10-12+ hour shifts to get our normal jobs done and these social experiments only detract from our true focus of our jobs.

Our military seemed to work perfectly fine for a few hundred years without all of these social experiments going on. The US Government wants us to do more with less and then tacks on non job related training to make sure everybody does not have hurt feelings.

I though those "rights" that Seajay eludes to were put forth by our nations founding "Fathers" and Veterans were the defenders of those rights...not the givers...
As for the "Soap Box' issue...I don't have a horse in that race...
But I concur with Ton's quote to Path ..." Shame on you for even bringing that up."
This isn't the forum to bring those topics to the table..  end quote...

I am going to type real slow and re read this before I hit enter ...........
Anyone  can set forth our ''rights'' as guaranteed by a piece of paper.......
Only a relative few are willing to guarantee those ''rights'' by standing and being counted on the firing line when it comes to the preservation of those ''rights''...............  Enter the Soldier....  Enter the veteran
Anyone can set forth laws and rules for a nation to live by in the hazardous world of diplomacy.
Less than TWO PERCENT of the population of this country are willing to give of their life and time in service to this country........  Enter the Sailor............Enter the veteran
Anyone can sit on their sofa and Monday Morning quarterback the world situation and what they think is ''right or wrong'' while sipping coffee and watching CNN....
A relative few are sitting in the mud eating MRE's and drinking a black liquid called ''coffee'' and can ''call the plays'' from the front line............ Enter the Marine..........Enter the veteran
A tiny few can scrape the bottom of Gods heaven with no place to hide while making a good target for all to see............  Enter the Air Force........Enter the veteran..
Ten time ten thousands serve in all facets of our military.  Reservist, Coast Guards People, Weekend Warriors and all who serve...........Enter the greatest brotherhood in the world ..... Enter the Veteran....
For all those who have served, God give you a special blessing...........

For those who have not served, the bleachers are on the left and if you hurry you can get a good seat up toward the top where you can really see well so you might try to understand exactly what is going on down on the field of honor.......
 ....... ENTER THE CIVILIAN.......
My military brothers and sisters will guarantee your rights set forth by men who did not fight for them  and WOULD NOT DIE FOR THEM WHEN NECESSARY.....ENTER THE VETERAN .....

Interesting statement.  So, just what is a "social experiment"?  Full integration of blacks into the military (BTW, Eisenhower did that)?  Are women in the military just a social experiment?  I would like to see more from you on what these "social experiments" were and how they disrespected the military.

I'll readily admit, I stood on the side of the status quo when I was a young sailor.  Seemed like the thing to do.  But, as I got older and smarter, I realized we all have the ability to serve and, yes, the right.  Who am I to question anyone's desire or ability to serve their country in the same way I did.  The only reason this part of this discussion has come up is because some of "us" cannot accept others as they are.  And, if it is a "social experiment" to force us to, so be it...military or not.
