I'm here, at home, still
« on: May 27, 2012, 11:29:26 AM »
Took my motorhome in for some minor things to finish last Monday, guess where it still is.  It's not a big deal, I thought I would have it back Friday night to load to leave this week.  I don't go anywhere over holidays.  I haven't been anywhere since December. When I called they had not received my new shocks yet, say what?? since last Monday?  Ok.......... And then he said they were overwhelmed, the place was almost empty when I went in.  But I'm sure everybody wanted theirs done before the holiday weekend.

But it might be for the best, a tooth that had twinged a bit is now hurting so calling my dentist Tuesday morning, its an old cap and guess it has seen its day.

So while I'm here this week, hope not all week, I decided to go ahead and dig out my grease trap.  Going to get my septics pumped and so hubby said that needs done too.  I can't for the life of me remember where I had the second tank added for the mobile home a few years back.  I got my helper to dig my other lids out but I'm looking for this one.  I found the outdrain and dug out aways but have to water some more its so dry.  I had to talk to Tom to remember for sure where the  grease tank is, he changed some things on it a bit.  I got the one opening we have to add chemicals and dug down and pulled it off and scooped out gobs of grease so I know it needs it, and I realize the grease floats to the top.  I swear I was running water out in the kitchen and its running better. I got about half of the lid uncovered, but a few years back I got tired of trying to keep flowers in the area and covered the whole space between our house and the sidewalk with heavy landscape plastic then pavers, now I have to remove a few more, but almost there.  We have a drywell for the washer, kitchen sink, and dishwasher, it doesn't go into the septics.

So that will be my big day.  Then tomorrow going to work in the garden, pick a bunch and hopefully donate some to a food bank if they will take it.

But one thing I have to do today yet that is very important and that is put up my FLAG.  that is what this day is about and to think of all those that are out there serving our country so I can do my mundane tasks in peace and without fear.  and also travel our great country in the same way, we are one of a kind and we need to never forget that.

And I thank my son for continuing toserve as a member of the DOD where he continues to serve in S Korea and helping support our troops as do many others.  He was active duty military for 10 years, then a contractor for the DOD and now an employee of same.  Thank you to all on the forums who have served our country also and to my husband who did also.

I was just listening to the beginning of the Indianapolis 500. Trying to decide if I want to stay in and watch it or get busy.  It's so fast anymore it doesn't last long.  I went out and dug a bit and I'm now in, think I will watch this and brave the heat later to finish.
