Colorado Internet access? and tethering a laptop
rebar:
Im in the dark ages with my phone and ready to upgrade. Who has the best reception in colorado? My daughter says I need a smart phone since we already have ATT. But Im really at a loss here.. I need mobile internet access and tethering to a laptop would be great.
Thanks
Wendy:
Down in our corner of the state (southwest), you need Verizon. There are spots in the state where ATT is better. In our travels, we've found Verizon to cover more of the state.
John From Detroit:
I disagree with your daughter.
I use T-mobile, coverage is comparable to AT&T (In fact they have mutual roaming agreements so it's identical).
But it is about the dumbest phone made, I had T-Mobile disable texting at the host level (Account level) so it will not do text, WWW, Aps, Download anyhting, JUST DOES VOICE! I am very happy with it.

Thanks.. Unfortunately, Im locked into a two year contract with ATT until December. Honestly, I only need internet access for two weeks when I visit Colorado.
Gary RV Roamer:
A smart phone doesn't get any better - or worse - reception than a dumb one. Some phones have better antennas than others, though.
If you are locked into AT&T with a contract, what is it you are asking when you inquire "Who has the best reception in colorado?" You are stuck with AT&T, right? And changing phones on AT&T will extend that contract unless you pay full price for the new phone.
As an alternative, you could buy another phone, e.g. on ebay, and activate that on your current account.
