One more and I will stop.......maybe...cj

(1/1)

Seajay:
My uncle and his wife lived in an old farm house that sat about half a mile off a back road.  It was on a hill with no other houses around it.  The old house had a ''wood shingle roof'' on the kitchen portion and it had a front porch that ran the length of the front of the house.  I was initally built back in the twenties.  My aunt and uncle were always hearing things around the house and they paid them little attention.  One evening Mom and Dad and me went down to see Paul and Dot and no one was home so we went in and made a pot of coffee and waited on them to get home.  While we waited Mr. Rudd their insurance man, drove up and came in and we all sat there and talked and waited for my aunt and uncle.  We were sitting in the kitchen when we heard a car in the driveway, coming up the hill.   You could hear the tires on the gravel in the drive way, the car stop and two doors slam like someone was getting out of the car.  Mr. Rudd said he would go out and ''help with the groceries'' and Dad told him there was no one out there.   ''Charlie, I just heard them pull up in the yard and we should go help with the groceries''.  Poppa insisted there was no one in the yard so Mr Rudd got up to prove him wrong.  Mr. Rudd went to the kitchen door and  NO ONE WAS IN THE YARD, NO CAR, NO PEOPLE, NOTHING save our cars.  Mr Rudd turned kinda white and told Poppa that Paul and Dot could simply mail in their premiums from then on because he was leaving and never coming back.
Paul told us many stories about his ''Ghost'' and he said they got use to the noises and paid them no attention.
All this is true because I heard the sounds and no one was there except us.............cj....

All of the sandbox aint worth another life of our troops.... bring them home now.........cj...

Luca1369:
I was in the kitchen at the Park headquarters in Exuma Park (Bahamas) for Thanksgiving one year.  The warden, Ray, a close friend of mine, and I were discussing a local man, Pat, a mutual friend of ours and comrade in arms so to speak in the Park's fight against poachers, who had died the previous Thanksgiving.  Pat had gone out fishing, a frontal passage came through, and he never returned nor was his boat ever found despite our best efforts to organize a combined search by the Bahamas Defence Force and the USCG.

Suddenly we heard a crash inside one of the overhead cabinets just behind my head where pots and pans were stored.  Ray and I looked at each other, smiled and both said in unison "Hi Pat!"
