One of my favorites is IExit, aims even better than The Next Exit.

Thanks Barb. Just curious if that means that, after downloading, it will work for a limited time before requiring payment. I installed it on my iPod. It's also available for Android (also 'free for a limited time'), but is not compatible with my version.

I read the reviews for iexit and a number of users complain about the fact it eats up your battery:

"Sounds like it COULD be a nice app. However, it really sucks down your battery life. I just checked, and iExit is at the very top of the battery usage list across all my apps. A whopping 33% !!! And that's with the iExit app CLOSED. Sorry, but this app will now be uninstalled because I can't afford to have my battery die in just a few short hours of standby. I'll consider trying it again if/when that gets fixed."

Thanks to Barb for the tip!

I downloaded and installed it on my Android cell and found that even when I had it "off" I was still getting a notification every 5 seconds or so that the iexit GPS was "searching". Maybe that's what leads to the battery complaints.

FWIW, because of this I uninstalled it.

I just downloaded iExit to my Droid.

Initial look&see and it seems to be a nice free app. Two things I noticed while downloading was 1) It is large(26.74MB), 2) Last updated June 13, 2011.

It ran low on storage, now doing some other updates and ran out of memory, even tho iExit says it will install in SD memory if available?

On my Android smartphone I can't get anything to install to the SD card except data that I transfer there when hooked up to my laptop. It says it is installing to the SD card, but it really installs to the internal memory. I spent several days on this issue and could not resolve it. I am running Gingerbread 2.3.5.

I have iExit Lite on my iphone but the full app is 99-cents. FWIW, anything that uses GPS sucks up battery power if Location Services is On. I have one called Find My Car (I use as Find My RV), and if it's open, my battery goes down.

How do you check battery usage on apps on an iphone?

I have had Iexit on our Ipad for 8 months or so but I do keep the Ipad plugged in while driving and it does not seem to be affecting battery usage when the app is shut  down.

I can't load iexit -- play store says it's not compatible with my version (Android 4.0.4). Probably best with a phone (or data) connection, anyway, which my Galaxy Tab 2 doesn't have..
