iPhone Bluetooth connect to PC for moving pictures
« on: July 25, 2012, 09:08:37 AM »
How is that for complete header?

Has anyone paired their iphone to PC via bluetooth to move photos in either direction?  Mine will pair but then seems to fail.  Or, do I just need to USP connect it?  If you can't do this, then what can you do?

I tried too to connect with bluetooth to synch, but quit.  From some forums I read, it does not seam possible.

A better alternative would be to use iCloud, that way any picture you take is automatically synched to your computer:  http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4486

Bill,

I just connect the phone and have Picasa move the photos to the computer. Lately it has been copying all of the photos instead of ignoring the ones already d/l. It also puts them in a different file. Will have to work on that.

Jim, do you do that over Bluetooth or with the cable?  I do the same with the cable, but could not get it to work with Bluetooth.

I too have seen on occasions it copies all photos instead of all the new ones.  I think it only happens after an iOS upgrade on the phone, must cause Picasa to think it's a new device, so it imports everything.  I don't use Picasa to import though, I use the built-in Windows photo import feature, but I use Picasa to view/edit pictures after though.

I just send the pic via e mail.  Tap the pic on my iPhone4 and send it to e mail addy and open on my MacBook Pro.  I looked into the iCloud but even with the first 5 gig free I would need 64 gig for music and other stuff making it cost prohibitive.

Marc,

I do it with a USB cable. Never tried with bluetooth. I'm not sure how it would tie in.

That is OK if you only have a few pictures but if you have several hundred that could be a problem. I agree with you about using iCloud for photos ... too expensive to carry that much space.

Since you the OP is asking about PC I will say that I would just connect your iPhone with a USB port and then use Windows Explorer to select the pictures you want and copy or move them where you want them. Gives you more control that way than have all pictures moved over ... unless that is what you want.

On my MAC I use the USB port and use the Image Capture app to select or copy the pictures I want to whatever directory or folder I want on my MacBook Pro.

Quick and simple either way.
