Adjusting the flame of gas water heater

by Karl Kolbus

RV Forum staffer Karl explains how to adjust the flame on a gas water heater.

There is a small sleeve over the burner tube with slots or holes in it. Loosen the small clamping screw, and slide or rotate the sleeve until you get a nice, clean blue flame. If you go too far (too much air), the flame will become somewhat erratic and noisy; back it off a bit.
