Preventing oil spills

by Tom Jones

Have you noticed how many RV generators have the oil filter mounted horizontally? When you start to unscrew the filter, oil immediately starts to drip into an inaccessible area. The way to avoid this is to use an oil absorbent pad, sold in most marine stores.

Place the absorbent pad beneath the oil filter &/or stuff it into that inaccessible area. Any oil dripped will be absorbed by the pad, leaving you with an oil-free generator area.
