    Gray tank & Black tanks

Thanks Gary, I never considered the smell issue with leaving it open, we are newbies after all. We have been at a RV park for about 2 weeks now and with just my husband and myself it wasn?t an issue. We kept it closed and opened on about day four to drain then closed it. But then, the teenage...

Thanks. That will be better than having to empty every 4 or 5 days.

    Gray tank & Black tanks

Hi to all the experienced RV?s. We finally got house closed and are in our 5th wheel. So, I know to always keep black tank closed and only open when it needs to be emptied. But, what about gray tank? When in camp ground with sewer hook up can you leave gray tank open or should it be closed like...

We will keep it to travel in but plan to build a home in NC. But, that really depends on how much we like the full time RV life.

We are in market for 5th wheel for full time living for about 2 years. Looking at used and new. My DH wants new, I?m on the fence. Read bad stories about both. Looking for input from experienced RV 5th wheelers. We have also looked at a 38 ft Shasta Phoenix that I like but husband isn?t sold on...

    Finally going to happen

Ok, so we put our house on the market this time last year. We have had one purging yard sale. Bought a bigger truck to haul a 5th wheel and now we have a contract on house with a closing scheduled for Jan. 6th. On Saturday we are going on a serious look at 5th wheels. We have been looking since...

    tow vehicle

Thanks for replies. I kinda knew he was right because he has driven OTR tractors for a living. I was just thinking maybe this was just an" I want a bigger truck idea". But, I do want to be safe while we travel.

    tow vehicle

We are looking at a 38' 5th wheel. We have a Chev 2500 dura max diesel 4WD. According to spec it has enough tow capacity for the 5th wheel which weights 12,600. Hubby wants a 3500 dully, he says to prevent sway issues with pulling. Just looking for opinions about towing.

    1st question of many

Good point, I will check into that. When we purchase our new tow vehicle we want to register and tag in our domicile state. In Ga, which is where we live now, we would have to pay sales tax of 7% then another % of purchase price for ad valorem. That would be about another $3000 to purchase...

    1st question of many

I am in planning stage of RVing for probably 2 years before we build a home. So, first question is about establishing a domicile. We have our home for sale. I have found most favorable states for domicile are SD, TX, and FL. Because we own property in NC, which is where we will eventually build...

    Ready for change-Newbies

I totally understand. My husband is a CDL driver which helps it both the decision of what to buy for both tow vehicle and towable. We are leaning toward 5th wheel but are just in our research phase now. Thanks for the sound advise.

    Ready for change-Newbies

Our downsizing yard sale is this weekend. I am so ready to get rid of "stuff".  My husband has a Chevy 2500 diesel but has been looking at 350/3500 diesel. We are leaning towards a 5th wheel but haven't made final decision yet. Thanks for suggestions
