Well thank you all for the valuable input. We had a good look at that Protect-a-tow and are thinking that may be the way to solve the issue - quick to install, lightweight and quite efficient. We will do some more research and keep you all posted.
Thanks again!
We were wanting to attach some kind of protection on the underside of the rig at the back to prevent debri etc. hitting our toad. I have done extensive research but can find no definitive answer as to wether we should put up a solid guard or go for the lighter, "hula skirt" option. Another...
Good call Bill. I went with that. I got up under there and checked both carrier bearings. There was a lot of play in the back one and an unacceptable amount of play in the front one. I will be replacing both of them and the u-joints after Christmas. I am off up to the Outer Banks on Sunday so it...
Thanks for the feedback guys. No history of any repairs on the drive-shaft so l will go with John's suggestion and have a truck shop look at the front suspension.
Good morning RVing world!
I have recently replaced all my tires on our Brave (with a Ford Workhorse chassis) in the hope that it would fix the vibration problem we were experiencing once we reached 45 mph. I was under the impression that this vibration is (usually) caused by the wheels being...
Hi again all,
Yes, it has been a while since I was last here. I guess that is due to the fact that everything was running just fine with the rig :)
Now we have a very small leak under the bedroom slide. I found this entry whilst searching the forum for clues...
Something that happened today just added to my confusion/mild frustration. I did a simple test (something I should have thought about earlier) - I had the engine running and, as usual the voltage at the coach batteries was only 12.6 DCV. I then had my wife operate the battery boost switch on the...
I am not sure if this is an issue but when I depress my brake pedal (or even just rest my foot on it lightly) it makes a whistling noise. Is that normal? The brakes themselves seem to be working correctly, but the pedal does appear to have quite a bit of travel to it. I am not familiar with the...
We are looking at replacing the cylinders in the exterior compartments. We did not really want to replace them with the standard cylinders that Winnebago sells due to the fact that those keys can be gotten hold of quite easily. Has anyone managed to find cylinders that fit with keys that are...
Thank you for your input gentlemen. I will be looking into the 3M products throughout the course of next week. Using the marine restorer/wax appears to be the safest way to go. I am more than prepared to use that extra bit of elbow grease to get the job looking good once finished.
I shall...
A fellow RVer mentioned the benefits of Red Max Pro polish for the outside of the rig. He gave me a sample along with a small tub of Barkeepers Friend. The results were amazing. Our RV had been standing in the Florida sunshine for 2 years before we got hold of it, so the paint on one side is not...
I realize my error in thinking that the two solenoids are the same, (of course they are NOT). I think my frustration got the better of my common sense and knowledge..... I guess I was just grasping at straws :)
