Old Crow: We left on Oct 29 and will be back on March 18. Where does your son work? The only Jason I know is with SAR (search and rescue). Be glad to help you out. I have three sons and anytime I can pull a fast one I take it.
Nothing is like when we were kids. The best part of "working" here is living IN the valley and not having to deal with the massive crowds to get in and out of the park.
SeilerBird is correct. Weather is the greatest contributor to the separation of large segments of rock. Granite will decompose over time. We work here in Yosemite and the NPS geologist will determine if El Cap. will close for a short time or not. Credit should be given to our Search and...
Welcome from Danbury NH. We are now at Yosemite NP working for PSAR(preventative search and rescue). We are both retired NH Law Enforcement. We have been full time for the last four years. Miss NH but enjoying America.

Best route from Phoenix area to Yosemite NP. Forty five ft. DP towing GMC 2500 four down. Travel time not critical. Looking for best roads and best (least) traffic.
Look at "Maine Stays" RV park in Winter Harbor. Just down the road from Schoodic Point, now a camp ground. There is a ferry a hundred yards from Maine Stay that goes to Bar Harbor several times a day.> Nice ride and makes going to Bar Harbor fun. The tour bus that goes to Cadillac Mt . is a...
Stone Vos is a Quality Company and the product superior to any other. Chris has done many seminars all over the country. I have two toppers on my rear slide (two years old) and even in the high wind gusts in Death Valley NP the rear toppers never flapped as my two front toppers did. They are...
Dream Chasers, We are members of the Roll 'N Rebels Chapter (Tampa area) and will be at the rally. Looking forward to meeting you and Roxie. We have Annie and Max, both Yorkies. Welcome to the Forum.
While camp hosting the past two summers at a forest service campground in northern Mt a different policy was used. Campers were told they could pickup any down wood for their camp fires. Any live tree or limb cut resulted in a serious fine. We regularly cleaned the ash out of the fire rings...
